Correction Replace the DIO module with a new one if it is failed.

Agilent 44472A Verification Tests

The VHF Switch module consists of two 4-to-1 MUXs with BNC

connections. Only the center conductor of each channel is switched. The

outer conductors (shield) of all channels in a particular MUX are connected

together and unswitched.

Tests Procedure To test a channel:

1. Remove any external wiring from the rear of the 44472A. Reset the

44472A and press Mon;

2. Set the Multimeter to measure resistance, “Zero” the Multimeter;

3. Create a scan list including all the channels of 44472A;

4. MUX #0 TESTS: Connect a Multimeter between the center

conductor of the common connector (common #0) and the center

conductor of the channel under test (channel 00 to start). The

Multimeter should indicate that the channel is open (very high

resistance or an overload indication);

5. Press Step, the Multimeter should display a resistance reading of less

than 1Ω;

6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for channels 01, 02 and 03;

7. MUX #1 TESTS: Reset the 44472A and connect the Multimeter

between the center conductor of the common connector (common #1)

and the center conductor of the channel under test (channel 10 to

start). The Multimeter should indicate that the channel is open (very

high resistance or an overload indication);

8. Press Step until the channel under test appears in the Agilent

3499A/B/C’s display. The Multimeter should display a resistance

reading of less than 1Ω;

9. Repeat Steps 7 and 8 for channels 11, 12 and 13.

Correction a. If during Steps 5 or 8, one or more channels does not close as described,

a problem exists in either the mainframe Controller board or the 44472A.

You can use a functional 44472A to isolate the problem.

b. If during Steps 5 or 8, the channels closed but one or more of the

resistances was greater than 1Ω, the relays in the corresponding channel(s)

are failing.

Note Replace the 44472A with a new one if it is failing.

Agilent 44476A/B Verification Tests

The Agilent 44476A has three independent SPDT 50 Ω coaxial switches

(Figure 4-5). The Agilent 44476B allows you to mount any two 3331XX
