62 Verification Tests
If “RS232 TEST” is displayed on the front panel of the Agilent 3499A/B/C,
the RS-232 test passed. Otherwise, the RS-232 test failed.
Keyboard Test All the keys on the front panel of an Agilent 3499A/B/C can be tested easily
by pressing the keys. If one or more keys has no response, a problem exists
in either the Keyboard Assembly, or the Controller board. Refer to “Agilent
3499A/B/C Problem Isolation” on Page 80 for problem isolation
information.
Correction If GPIB test and/or RS-232 test failed, the Controller board malfunctioned.
To replace or repair the Controller board, it is necessary to disassemble the
Agilent 3499A/B/C mainframe. Refer to “Replaceable Parts” on Page 85 for
the mainframes disassembly information.
Relay Cycle Count
For the plug-in modules Agilent N2260A, N2261A, N2262A, N2266A,
N2267A, N2268A, N2270A, N2272A, N2276A/B (except attenuators),
N2280A/81A/82A, and the switching function on the multifunction modules
Agilent N2264A/65A, the relay cycle count can be queried from the front
panel (refer to “Front-Panel Operation” on Page 31 for the operation).
It is recommended that the switching module can be replaced with a new
one, if the relay cycles of the switching relay(s) on this module exceed the
relay life. Refer to “Specifications” on Page 1 for more information.
MUX Modules Verification Tests
The following MUX modules can be tested in a similar way:
Agilent N2260A 40-channel MUX module;
Agilent 44470A 10-channel MUX module;
Agilent 44470D 20-channel MUX module;
Agilent N2266A 40-channel MUX module;
Agilent N2268A 50W 3.5GHz Dual 1-to-4 MUX module;
Agilent N2270A 10-channel High Voltage MUX module;
Agilent N2272A 1GHz RF 1-to-9 MUX module.
