General Information
The Operation Verification Tests should be performed whenever it is desired
to determine whether the Agilent 3499A/B/C and its plug-in modules are
actually operating. For example, these tests can be used as an “incoming
inspection procedure” when an Agilent 3499A/B/C Switch/Control System
is initially received, or they can be used to verify a suspected failure after the
system has been installed into a test system. Additionally, after a failure has
been detected and repaired, these tests can be used to confirm that the repairs
have accomplished their purpose.
A “test fixture” is required for several plug-in modules to simplify testing
and act as an interface between the module and a multimeter. A test fixture
can be made for a plug-in module by configuring a removable wiring
(screw) terminal block.
The following instruments can be used to perform the Verification Tests:
Agilent 34401A Digital Multimeter, or equivalent;
Test Fixture (configured from the related wiring terminal block);
PC (IBM compatible, with the RS-232 default);
GPIB Interface.
