7. The instrument returns to “CONFIG DIO”, press Mode again to exit
the configuration, the CONFIG annunciator turns off accordingly.
DIO Port
Configuration
To configure the data line polarity and data display format for an individual
digital I/O port:
1. Select a digital I/O port (i.e. Port 401), press Mode (the CONFIG
annunciator lights up). Turn the knob to select one item (i.e. DATA
POLARITY);
2. Press Enter, turn the knob to select the polarity (i.e. NEG
POLARITY);
3. If another item “DISP FORMAT” is selected, press Enter, then turn
the knob to select the data display format (i.e. BINARY);
4. Press Enter to select the data display format and return to “DISP
FORMAT”, press Mode again to exit the configuration, the CONFIG
annunciator turns off accordingly.
To configure other digital I/O ports, repeat Steps 1 through 4.
Note Once you have selected the data display format for a port, it applies to all
input and output operations on that port.
Scanning Operation
The scan operation in SCPI mode is different from that in 3488A mode. In
3488A mode, you only need to create a scan list, then step through the scan
list by repeatedly pressing Step. However, scanning in SCPI mode has more
features (refer to Figure 3-2).
