38 Front-Panel Operation
Note An instrument reset does not affect the stored instrument setup information.
Once a setup is stored, it remains until overwritten or specially deleted with
a SCPI command SYSTem:STATe:DELete.
Note All the stored instrument setups will be cleared automatically whenever the
system mode is changed.
To Recall an Instrument State
A previously stored instrument setup can be recalled. Before recalling a
stored setup, the instrument verifies that all module type and slot assignment
match the setup. If a mismatch is detected, the recall operation will stop and
a string “RECALL FAILED” will be returned (no error occurs).
To recall an instrument setup:
1. Press Recall, turn the knob to a previously stored setup (i.e. 05);
2. Press Enter to recall the setup (i.e. 05); press Recall again to cancel
the current recall operation.
View Key Operation
The instrument can store up to 10 errors
[1]
in the error queue, up to 200
channels in the scan list, as well as the relay cycle counts on the newer
plug-in modules. The View key provides you an intuitive way to query these
information. Table 3-4 lists the View key structure.
To View an Error To view an error:
1. Press View (the VIEW annunciator turns on), turn the knob to
“ERROR”, then press Enter;
2. If no error is in the error queue (the ERROR annunciator is off), the
instrument displays “NO ERROR”, and then returns to the first level
RECALL 05
[1]. In 3488A mode, only the sum of the values of the possible error conditions, as defined in Table 6-20 on Page 128, is
recorded in the error queue and shown on the front panel.
