3. Edit the value. Press the two arrow keys to select the to-be-edited bit
(in dim), turn the knob to modify the value;
4. Press Enter to output the data to the selected port, or press Write
again to cancel the current write operation.
To Store an Instrument State
The Controller board in Agilent 3499A/B mainframe has two types:
Controller board Version 1.0 and Version 2.0. Agilent 3499C always has a
Controller board of Version 2.0.
Firmware of Agilent 3499A/B/C mainframe currently has 4 revisions: REV
1.0, REV 2.0, REV 3.0 and REV 4.0. Firmware REV 1.0/2.0/3.0 runs under
Controller board Version 1.0 and REV 4.0 runs under Controller board
Version 2.0.
The current instrument setup can be stored for future convenience. The
stored setups can be recalled directly, or included in a scan list. However, the
stored instrument setup in SCPI mode is different from that in 3488A mode.
Table 3-3 lists these differences.
To store a instrument setup:
1. Press Shift + Recall, the display would be:
2. Turn the knob to change the memory location number (i.e. 05);
3. Press Enter to store the current instrument setup (to location 5).

Stored information:
1. Status of relay channels (open/close);
2. Status of digital I/O ports (input/output) on digital I/O
modules in either static Mode #1 or Mode #2;
3. Module configurations: card pair, 1/2/4-wire function
mode, baud rate, flow control, etc.;
4. Scanning setups: scan list, arm count, arm source, etc.
Stored information:

modules in either static mode1 or mode2.
For Firmware REV 4.0: Up to 50 instrument setups can be
stored (numbered 1-50);
For Firmware REV 1.0/2.0/3.0: Up to 10 instrument setups
can be stored (numbered 1-10).
Up to 40 instrument states can be stored (numbered 1-40).
