Removal and Replacement 2-9
2.2.3 Crane Slack Safety Switch
Tools Required: Phillips head screwdriver, flat head screwdriver, 9/64" hex
wrench
Remove:
1. Using a phillips head screwdriver, remove the four (4) screws on the front
and back cover of the head.
2. Disconnect the power cable at the end of the head.
3. Using a flat head screwdriver, remove the three (3) screws in the end stop
at the front of the boom. Figure 1-6.
4. Carefully roll the head off the crane boom. Lay the head down on a flat
surface with the top (open) end up.
5. Using a 9/64" hex wrench, remove the four (4) hex screws at the top of the
head.
CAUTION:
While removing the screws support the motor at the
cable end.
6. Pull the cable and hook up through the hole in the head.
7. Spread the sides of the head and slide the head assembly free.
8. Using a phillips head screwdriver, remove the two (2) screws that attach
the switch to the block. Figure 1-9.
Replace:
1. Reverse the removal procedures above.
