Features
Q All functions that can be accessed via the local keypad and display can also be
accessed via a remote PC via the network.
Brief: LOCAL corresponds with MAIN features.
Q All functions that can be accessed via a remote connection are not necessarily
available via the local keypad.
Brief: REMOTE corresponds with ALL features.
Q This remote access allows controlling multiple printers from a networked cen-
tral PC.
Q The prerequisites for remote access are:
• A PC (Windows 2000 is advised),
• Browser software (preferably Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0),
• A network adapter,
• A cross-link Ethernet cable (for a direct link between PC and
Drystar 5500) or a straight Ethernet cable (for a connection via an
existing network).
Q Using the remote PC, you have access to five operating modes of the
Drystar 5500: Operator mode, Key-operator mode, Service mode, Specialist
mode, and Administrator (Security) mode.
Depending on the operating mode, you will need a password to have access:
