User`s manual

During use the appliance becomes hot. Care should
be taken to avoid touching the heating elements
inside the ovens.
The clock must be set to the time of day before the left
hand oven will work. See ‘The Clock’ section of these
instructions for how to set the clock.
The lower gas ovens have zoned heat, which means that
the thermostat setting refers to the temperature on the
middle shelf of the oven. It is warmer above and cooler
below. By using these zones of heat, food that requires
different temperatures can be cooked together at the
same time in the oven.
To operate either oven
Before using for the first time, heat the ovens to Mark 7 for
30 minutes to dispel manufacturing odours.
Push in and turn the control
knob controlling the oven to
Gas Mark 9. The oven will
light automatically.
Turn the control knob back
to the Mark you wish to cook
on and for best results pre-
heat for 15 minutes before
placing the dishes in the
oven.
Because the oven burner is not hidden under the oven
base you will see the burner flames at the back of the
oven - this is perfectly normal.
The oven is protected by a safety cut-off, which reduces
the supply of gas to the oven if the flames go out, e.g. an
interruption to the mains supply.
Initially the gas will burn with a small flame but after
approximately one minute the flame will become larger
indicating the oven is full on.
Condensation
Condensation may form on the cooker. This is quite
normal and nothing to worry about. The condensation
forms when heat and moisture are present. Whenever
possible try to make sure that food which contains a lot of
moisture for example casseroles are covered. If you do
notice any condensation, wipe it up straight away. Do not
leave food in the oven to cool after it has been switched
off.
The Oven Lights
Turn the oven light knob to the far left for the left hand
oven light and to the right for the right hand oven light. To
turn on both lights turn the knob to the bottom position.
