6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
SAFEGUARDS (PERSONNEL):
Protect skin and eyes from exposure. If excessive dust is created, wear dust mask or respirator to keep exposure below the
Permissible Exposure Level for particulate matter.
SPILL PROCEDURE:
Do not return spilled or contaminated material back to the original container. Collect the product with suitable means, shovel, or
sweep avoiding dust formation. All receiving equipment should be clean, dry, and vented. All waste materials should be packaged,
labeled, and transported in accordance with all national, state/provincial, and local requirements.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING (PERSONNEL):
Do not handle in a manner that creates excessive dust. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Wash contaminated clothing before
reuse.
HANDLING (PHYSICAL ASPECTS):
Follow good housekeeping and hygiene practices to help prevent accidental exposure or ingestion. Keep container closed to avoid
contamination.
STORAGE PRECAUTIONS:
Store in a dry area. Store away from heat sources. Store at temperatures less than 40 C (104 F).
SPECIAL SENSITIVITY:
Large quantities should be stored in vented containers. Avoid contact with water of humidity. Blending / filling operations should
clean and dry process piping and equipment before packaging this product.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Compatible materials used include stainless steel, PE, paper and PE, glass, passivated aluminum, and plastic. If storing in plastic
bottles, the closures should include a vented insert.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION
ENGINEERING CONTROLS:
Facilities storing or using this material should be equipped with an eye wash and safety shower. Use only with adequate ventilation.
Packaging / blending operations should consult with your industrial hygienist or safety manager for the selection of personal
protective equipment suitable for the working conditions.
EYE / FACE PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS:
Dust proof goggles are recommended for industrial operations.
SKIN PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS:
For brief contact, normal work attire should be sufficient. When prolonged or frequently repeated contact could occur, use
protective clothing impervious to this material. Selection of specific items such as gloves, boots, apron or full-body suit will depend
on operation. If required, protective gloves should be made of PVC, neoprene or rubber.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS:
Under normal use conditions, with adequate ventilation, no special respiratory protective equipment is required. If airborne
concentrations exceed the OSHA exposure limit for dust, a NIOSH approved dust respirator is recommended.
