1. Park the vehicle on level ground and engage the parking brake. 2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 3. This is a good time to place masking tape across the bumper, side marker lights, and headlights to protect the parts from being scratched.
4. Remove plastic radiator cover, using a panel popper or flat blade screwdriver. 5. Remove the three mounting screws on each side securing the inner fender liner to the front bumper.
. Depress the retaining clip behind the fender liner to remove the side marker lights on each side then disconnect the connectors. 7. Release the clip under each of the side marker lights securing the bumper to the vehicle using a flat blade screwdriver.
8. Remove the clips securing the trim seal across the top of the bumper. 9. Release the two (2) clips securing the top of the bumper to each of the headlights using a flat blade screwdriver.
10. Remove all the bolts and clips securing the belly pan to the vehicle. 11. Remove the belly pan.
12. If the vehicle is equipped with fog lights, disconnect the connector for each of the fog lights once sides of bumper are unclipped from the vehicle. 13. Remove front bumper.
14. Disconnect the MAF sensor on the intake tube. 15. Remove the airbox and intake tube from the vehicle.
16. Unclip the wire harness from the cold side intercooler tube. 17. Disconnect the two (2) connectors on the cold side intercooler tube. 18. Slide the spring clamp back on the vacuum hose, then disconnect the hose from the cold side intercooler tube. 19. Remove the bolt securing the vacuum hose bracket to the engine, then remove the bracket from the vehicle. 20. Remove the two (2) screws securing the cold side intercooler tube to the engine.
21. Loosen the clamp securing the coupling to the throttle body, in the back of the engine. 22. Loosen the clamp securing the cold side intercooler tube to the lower coupling, located directly behind the radiator fan. 23. Remove the upper cold side intercooler tube from the vehicle.
24. Remove the two (2) screws securing the lower cold side intercooler tube to the factory intercooler. 25. Remove the lower cold side intercooler tube from the vehicle.
24 27 26 25 26. Remove the screw securing the radiator over-flow hose to the vehicle. 27. Remove the clip securing the over-flow hose. 28. Loosen the clamp securing the hot side intercooler tube to the turbo. 29. Remove the screw securing the intercooler tube to the vehicle.
30. Remove the screws securing the two (2) intercooler mounting brackets to the vehicle. 31. Remove the mounting brackets from the vehicle. 32. Remove the clip securing the air deflector on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
33. Remove the clip securing the air deflector on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. 34. Remove the intercooler from the vehicle.
35. Transfer all four (4) of the mounting grommets onto the supplied aFe intercooler.
36. Install the aFe intercooler into the vehicle. 37. Install the factory mounting brackets back into the vehicle to mount the aFe intercooler. 38. Remove the three (3) clips securing the lower air deflector to the vehicle. 39. Reinstall the two (2) clips that secure the side air deflectors to the lower air deflector, from steps 30 and 31. 40. Reinstall the three (3) clips securing the lower air deflector to the vehicle, from step 36.
41. Transfer the rubber mounting grommet onto the supplied aFe hot side intercooler tube. Note: Be sure to use thread sealant on the plugs or sensors to prevent any leaking 42. If you are not using any aftermarket sensors, install the supplied 1/8” NPT plug into the fitting on the aFe hot side intercooler tube and tighten.
43. Install the supplied 2-1/4"x 1-7/8” reducer coupling onto the shorter end of the aFe hot side intercooler tube with one (1) of the supplied 2-3/8” clamps (do not tighten the clamp yet). 44. Install the aFe hot side intercooler tube into the vehicle along with the supplied 2” clamp at the top to connect the reducer coupling to the turbo (do not tighten the clamp yet). 45.
Note: Be sure to use thread sealant on the plugs, sensors, or fittings to prevent any leaking 50. Install the supplied barbed 1/8” NPT fitting onto the upper aFe cold side intercooler tube and tighten. 51. If you are not using any aftermarket sensors, install the supplied 1/8” NPT plug into the fitting on the end of the aFe cold side intercooler tube and tighten.
52. Install the supplied silicone hose along with one (1) of the supplied 2-3/8” clamps onto the intercooler from the top (do not tighten the clamp yet).
53. Temp Sensor MAP Sensor 54. Remove the temp sensor and MAP sensor from the factory intercooler tube.
