Between 1999 and 2000 a former hangar is converted to a terminal
building making it four terminals today. Terminal 1 has undergone
reconstruction between 2007 and 2009 and a new baggage distribu-
tion system was installed. This terminal is mainly used by Lufthansa
and its Star Alliance partners. Terminal 2 holds the check-in for
Germanwings. Terminal 3 can take up to 4 million passenger per year
and is used by Condor, Air Berlin, TUIFly and Air France. Terminal 4
holds all charter flights.
The airport is planning an extension to the apron in the near future
making space for more parking positions as these are rather limited
during the overnight stays.
