Ibiza X
Aerosoft GmbH 2009
Photorealistic ground and third party mesh ter-
rain:
To get the best possible resolution of the terrain and airport scenery
set the texture sizes for ground (terrain) and custom objects to massive
i.e. the highest possible value. If you notice problems on older systems
(blurred textures, extensive loading times...) lower the settings step by
step.
Due to technical limitations of FS2004 the resolution of the island´s
terrain textures is limited to approx. 4,7m/pixel.
Ibiza X comes with its own mesh displaying the terrain heights. In case
you have installed a third party add on mesh you should click „YES“
when asked during the install. Otherwise it could happen that water is
running up the coasts of the islands. If you see such behaviour you can
solve it by renaming the alternative meshes located at /IbizaX_Ground/
scenery (Ibiza_meshLOD9.BGL to Ibiza_meshLOD12.OFF). To select a
specific mesh LOD (level of Detail) to overwrite the third party mesh
simply rename the files to OFF i.e. BGL.
Technical background: The flight simulator always displays the highest
LOD mesh, no matter how they are entered in the scenery library. Un-
fortunately lot of third party mesh developers use higher interpolated
(oversampled) mesh files without getting any benefit in resolution.
Technical advice regarding coast lines:
FS2004 knows only one possibility to exchange the default coast lines
with custom ones: Renaming default files to *.OFF and replacing them
with own custom ones. The installer tries to fix this automatically,
but it could lead to problems. Specially because there are numerous
possible combinations because the default files are very large up to
the Spanish mainland. If you discover problems with flattened balearic
islands or missing coastlines at the mainland, check the presence of
custom coast line files using the system as followed:
