The complex folding mechanism of the maintenance hangar, as well
as the hangar itself, were modelled after the original down to the last
architectural detail.

To represent Leutkirch in a simulator was a special challenge. The
hangar owners wanted an authentic representation of the hangar
including the folding mechanism of the opening gate. For this
purpose, our architect in the team took a close look at every cross
beam, every door, every pillar and reproduced them one-to-one in the
simulator.
Visual flight points here are the Zeil castle above the highway, the
sawmill with crane and lighting, the silos and the replicated highway.
All advertising banners in the restaurant area also correspond
one-to-one to the original.
It should also be mentioned that we are reproducing the current
state: The runway has been changed to runways 23 and 05 since
November 2021, as in the original.
EDMK Kempten Durach
Kempten Durach airfield is the highest and the second southernmost
general aviation airfield in Germany.
The airfield is located at an altitude of 713.2 m MSL (2340 ft) and has
as a special feature two intersecting grass runways (RWY 25 and 25:
850m x 30 m grass; RWY 17 and 35: 900 x 30 m).
The airfield is licensed for aircraft of all types up to 3000kg MTOW.
There are 4 hangars, an idyllic and highly recommended airfield café,
a fuel station, also a customs clearance and a helipad at the airfield.
In addition, the Christoph 17 rescue helicopter squadron is on site
next to the airfield.
Furthermore, you have the possibility of alpine sightseeing flights and
briefings as well as flight training through the flight school Michael
Bergmann or the air sports group Kempten as well as the Westall-
gaeuer air sports group or parachute jumps in a dreamlike area close
to the mountains.
Right next to the airfield, the beautiful city of Kempten can be easily
reached by car or bicycle.
