We paid special attention to our home airfield Jesenwang in the
simulator, because it is next to the Ammersee and combines many
visual flight points:
• Northern tip of Ammersee Stegen with pier, parking lot,
Ammer bridge, steamers and boats
• Radio tower Schöngeising
• Monastery St. Ottilien
• Monastery Andechs
• Raisting Earth station
• Hohenpeißenberg
• St. Mary’s Minster Dießen
• Several churches in Utting, Schondorf, Eching
• Biogas station Jesenwang
• Churches Jesenwang, Adelshofen
EDNH Bad Woerishofen
Bad Woerishofen is located between Landsberg am Lech and
Memmingen as a small idyllic grass airfield with a length of 805m and
width of 30m at an altitude of 620m above sea level (MSL) / 2034
ft- the runway alignments are RWY 08 and 26.
Historically, Bad Woerishofen was an airfield for the German Air Force
during WWII before being converted to a civilian airfield.
The family-run airfield with restaurant is operated by the Bahle-
Schmid family.
Flying pilots are happy to have great conversations with the boss Mr.
Bahle, who is always available for a nice chat. The restaurant with a
beautiful beer garden offers a wonderful place directly at the runway.
Within sight of the airfield is the Therme Bad Woerishofen and the
Skyline Park, Bavaria’s largest amusement park.
There is also a small glider airfield nearby.
At the Bad Woerishofen airfield there are opportunities for sightsee-
ing flights (also with an historic Antonov), flight training in UL and PPL
as well as other teaching licenses.
Woerishofen is the home to the charm and idyll of a privately run
airfield - EDNH is worth a visit not only because of the legendary
apple pie, which is very popular amongst pilots.
