Because we are at FL310 this means a descent of 14000’ equivalent to app. 42 NM (1000’ descent every 3
miles at a V/S of -2500). Adding some “reserve” we should therefore start our descent app. 15 NM before
ENOBA.

6.3 Set the FCU ALT to 17000’.
6.4 15 NM before ENOBA initiate descent to 17000’: Push the V/S knob and set the V/S rate to -2500 (FMA
= VS -2500)
Inform ATC that you are leaving your cruise altitude:
o PM – AUA319 left FL310 - descend FL170 at BORDI
o ATC - AUA319 leaving FL310 descend FL170 at BORDI
6.5 We will reach FL170 app. 5 NM before BORDI
