Back to our flight at Heathrow.
As in the “real” there are no ALT/SPD PREDICTIONS available in GA phase. Also, there is no DECEL point
calculated and symbol displayed on the ND during GA phase. The APPR PHASE (MCDU – PERF - APPR) must
be manually activated as well as previously the APPROACH CL (MCDU or Key 1). In our case activate it as
soon as possible as you approach the FAP to reduce speed on time for a stabilized approach.
If there is no ALT change to your next waypoint, please start the APPR CL manually (2D MCDU or from the
keyboard using “1”). As in our case you must descend to 2.500ft for the approach as per the chart. However,
in real life Heathrow ATC often clears aircraft in from 3.000ft, so you can stay at 3.000ft if you wish.

GSX:
Open the GSX (CRTL + F12) window. In GSX select the option “F2 – Increment Position” until you see
the gate position: In real life flights on this route usually part at gates 217 or 218. Choose either and
then select “F3 – Request Follow-Me to selected Position”. Follow the car. When you are at the gate
and have set the parking brakes to ON you will hear “Blocks in position” i.e. you have reached the
right position.
