3.16.5.3 Air Intake and Vent Starter Pieces
Venting must be supported per guidelines listed in the National Mechanical Code, Section 305,
Table 305.4 or as local codes dictate.
To connect a vent pipe to the air intake and vent outlet, proceed as follows while referring to
Figures 3-28 and 3-29:
Installing the Air Intake and Vent Connections
1. Install heater adapter “P” above inlet air opening “M” with gasket “D” and bolts “E”.
2. Make the connection between adapter “B” & “P” and pipe “G” & “N” as shown in Figure 3-28.
3. Insert the air inlet pipe 3” deep into the adapter “P” & “B”.
4. Tighten the clamp “F” to mechanically secure the adapter to the pipe.
