GeneralInformation
1. All electrical motors, including fan motors make somenoise, andmay feelhot to the touch.
ThisisNOTafault.
2. Ceilingfanstendtomoveduringoperationduetothefactthattheyarenotrigidlymounted.
(Rigidmountingscangenerateexcessivevibrationandstressonthemountings).
Movement ofa coupleof centimetresis quite OKanddoes not suggestthat the fanwill fall
down. The Aeratron fan is mounted securely on a metal Hanger Bracket with rubber
cushioning and a ball joint to allow free movement. Please note that due to manufacturing
variations not all
Aeratron ceiling fans are exactly the same‐some may move more that
others. Note: Excessive wobble can be caused by the Drive Shaft not being positioned
vertically.This canbe easily rectifiedby adjusting the position ofthe Fan Motor Assembly in
theHangerBracket(seepage7).
3. Ceiling
fansareanenvironmentallysmartchoicetohelpcoolyouinyour home.Theyworkby
creatingairflowwhichcausesacoolingsensationontheskin.Thefasterthespeedoftheair
flow,thegreaterthecoolingsensation.Ceilingfansdonotworkbycoolingtheroom,sothey
shouldbeswitchedoffwhenthereisnooneintheroom,tosaveenergy.Theeffectivenessof
ceiling fans is also dependent on the humidity in the air‐they are more effective in humid
environments,andlesssoindryones.
4. During winter, an in reverse turning fan
helps to reduceheating costs. Warmair rises tothe
ceiling, where it cannot be felt by the occupants of a room, especially in areas with high
ceilings.Thefanhelpstokeepwarmairawayfromtheceiling,andmixesitwiththeairbelow.
NormalWearandTear.
1. Threaded components working slightly loose or parts even slightly damage d or bent during
vigorouscleaningorbumpingcancausewobbleandnoise.Thisisnotcoveredunderwarranty,
butcareduringmaintenanceandcleaningshouldpreventthisfro moccurring.
CeilingFanWarranty.
Youmusthavetheoriginalpurchasereceiptorbillofsaletomakeawarrantyclaim.Noclaimwillbe
acceptedunlessproofofdateofpurchaseisavailableatthetimeofmakingthewarrantyclaim.
CeilingFanWarrantyPeriod.
Theceilingfanitself,excludingtheRemoteControlTransmitterandReceiver,iscoveredbya3yearin
homewarranty.Duringthisperiod,AeratronPtyLtdwill,atitsdiscretion,repairorreplacedefective
product. Labour and product delivery costs arebourn by Aeratron Pty Ltd during this 3 yearperiod.
The cost of obtaining or using special access equipment (scissor lifts, scaffolding etc.) is specifically
excluded, and it is the responsibility of the owner to provide such equipment and have it safely
installedandoperated.
Following the 3 year inhome warranty period, Aeratron Pty Ltd, offers a repair or
replacement
warranty on the motor assembly only, for an additional 2 years. During these 2 years, the owner is
responsible for labour costs incurred in removing and reinstalling the fan and for transpo r t costs to
Aeratron’srepaircentre.ReturnfreightwillbepaidbyAeratronPtyLtd.
RemoteControlWarrantyPeriod.
General Aeratron Pty Ltd Remote Control Receivers and Transmitters (Handsets) are covered by a 1
yearinhomewarrantyunderthesameconditionsasdescribedaboveforfans.Theadditional3year
repairorreplacementwarrantyoptionisnotofferedforRemoteControlTransmittersorReceivers.
