Considerations:
- The inputs and outputs are compliant with the AES-3 standard, both for audio and for
synchronization / signalling.
2.2.4. AUX DATA connector (+ IP Reset).
Allows you to connect an external equipment (a PC, for instance) in order to transmit and
receive auxiliary data in a transparent way. An ancillary data channel at 9600, 19200 or 38400
bauds is supported that is transmitted over IP, independently of the audio stream.
This same connector can be used to reset the configuration of the IP parameters of the unit’s
Ethernet port (see section 3.6 of this manual) following this sequence:
- Make a bridge between pins 2 and 3 of this connector.
- Turn on the unit.
- After a few seconds (around 10 and 20), a “bip” is heard. That means that DHCP option
has been activated in the unit. If you turn off the unit at that precise moment, remove
the bridge and turn it on again, the unit remains configured in DHCP mode. The rest of
the configuration remains intact.
- On the contrary, if you don’t turn off the unit, after a few seconds a second “bip” is
heard. If you turn off the unit at that precise moment, remove the bridge and turn it on
again, the DHCP mode is deactivated and previous IP address is configured in the unit.
The rest of the configuration remains intact.
- On the contrary, if after that second “bip” you don’t turn off the unit, after a few seconds
a third “bip” is heard. If you turn off the unit at that precise moment, remove the bridge
and turn it on again, the configuration of the IP parameters of the unit (IP address,
mask, gateway and DNS server) is restored to the factory default values. The rest of the
configuration remains intact. The default IP address configured in that case is
192.168.1.84.
2.2.5. Ethernet port (LAN).
PHOENIX MERCURY is equipped with an Ethernet port. Using this Ethernet port will enable
you to connect the unit via IP to a LAN or WAN network and send audio over it. This port is also
used to configure and manage the unit from one or several PCs using the remote control
software. Please consult AEQ ControlPHOENIXapplication manual.
