GAUSSallowsyouseveralwaystoviewthevaluesofvariablesduringdebugging.
Hover Tool-tip View
Oncethedebuggerisstarted,hoveringyourmouseoveravariablenamewillopentool-
tipwithapreviewofthevaluesinthevariable.
Thesetooltipviewsareonlyintendedtogiveaquickviewofthedata,sotheymaynot
showalldataheldbythevariable.Ifyouneedtoviewmoredata,clickonthevariable
nameandtypeCTRL+EorclicktheSetWatchVariableandenterthevariablename.
Youmaysingle-clickonavariableinthelocalvariablewindow,ordouble-clickitto
viewthevariableinafloatingsymboleditor.EnteringCTRL+Ewillopenthevariable
underyourcursorinafloatingsymboleditorwindow.
Editing Variable Values During Debugging
ThedebuggerintegratestheMatrixEditortoeditvaluesofloadedvariables,ortouseas
awatchwindowtoviewthechangingvaluesofvariablesasyoustepthroughaprogram.
Toviewavariableinasymboleditor,highlightthevariableintheeditwindow,orthe
ProgramInput/OutputWindowandthenopentheMatrixEditor.Youcanusethemenu
ortoolbartostarttheMatrixEditor.
