Expandthenodeofafiletoexamineitslistofmatches,orright-clickandselect'Expand
All'fromthecontextmenu.Onceyouexpandthenodeforafile,youwillseetheline
numberofthematchfollowedbyacolonandthenthelineofcodewiththematchhigh-
lightedinyellow.Double-clickonalinetoeditthatfile.
Executing a replace
Afteryouhavecompletedyoursearchanduncheckedanymatchesthatyoudonotwant
replaced,clicktheReplacetab.EnteryourreplacementtermandpresstheReplacebut-
ton.GAUSSwillwarnyouthatanychangesinunsavedfilescannotbeundone.Ifyou
arecertainofyourreplacement,clickOK.
Ifyouaremakingachangeacrossalargenumberoffiles,particularlyifyouarenot
usingaversioncontrolsystemlikeSubversionorGit,itisagoodideatoselectthe
'BackupOriginal'checkbox.Withthisselected,beforeGAUSSmakesthereplace-
mentstoyourfileitwillsaveacopyoftheoriginalwitha.bakextension.Forexample
ifyouroriginalfilewasmyfile.gss,thebackupfilewillbecalled
myfile.gss.bak.
Ifyouselectthe'OverwriteBackup'checkbox,thenexttimethatyoumakeachangeto
thisfile,thefilemyfile.gss.bakwillbeoverwritten.IfyoudoNOTcheckthe
'OverwriteBackup'checkbox,GAUSSwillmakeincrementedbackupfiles:
myfile.gss.bak(1),myfile.gss.bak(2),etc.
