AUTOMATIC ICE & WATER MAKER/DISPENSER
Tocleantheicemaker:
1 Turnofficeproductionbypressingtheicemaker’sOff/On switch.
2 Removetheicebinbyliftingupandout.
3 Emptyandcarefullycleantheicebinwithmilddetergent.Rinse
withclearwater.Donotuseharshorabrasivecleaners.
4 Allowtheicebintodrycompletelybeforereplacinginthefreezer.
5 Remove ice chips and clean the ice bin shelf and the freezer door
chute.
6 Replacetheicebin.Presstheicemaker’sOff/On switch to
resume ice production.
Remove and empty the ice storage bin if:
• Anextendedpowerfailure(onehourorlonger)causesicecubes
intheicestoragebintomeltandfreezetogether,jammingthe
dispenser mechanism.
• Youdonotusetheicedispenserfrequently.Icecubeswillfreeze
togetherinthebin,jammingthedispensermechanism.
Removetheicestoragebinandshaketoloosenthecubesorcleanas
explained above.
CAUTION - Chemicals from a malfunctioning water
softener can damage the ice maker. If the water
supply to your refrigerator is softened, be sure the
softener is maintained to work properly.
CAUTION - NEVER use an ice pick or similar sharp
instrument to break up the ice. This could damage
the ice storage bin and dispenser mechanism.
- Ifyouturnofftheicemakerforalongperiodoftime,youshould
also turn off the water supply valve.
Cleaning the ice maker
Cleantheicemakerandicebinatregularintervals,particularlybefore
you take a vacation or move.
IMPORTANT-Whenremovingor
replacingtheicebin,DONOTrotate
theaugerintheicebin.Iftheaugeris
accidentallyrotated,youmustrealign
theaugerbyturningitin90degreeturns
(seebelow)untiltheicebintsintoplace
with the drive mechanism. If the auger is
notproperlyalignedwhenreplacingthe
icebin,therefrigeratorwillonlydispense
CrushedIce.Thefreezerdoormayalso
notcloseproperlycausingwarmairto
leak into the freezer.
Locating the filters
Yourrefrigeratorisequippedwithseparatewaterandairlteringsystems.
Thewaterltersystemltersalldispenseddrinkingwater,aswellasthe
waterusedtoproduceice.Theairlterremovesodorsandimpurities
fromtherefrigeratorcompartment.
Water filter
Thewaterlterislocatedatthetoprightsideofthefreshfood
compartment.
Replacing the water filter
Ingeneral,youshouldchangethewater
ltereverysixmonthstoensurehighest
possiblewaterquality.TheWater Filter
StatuslightontheTouchPanelprompts
you to replace the filter after a standard
amountofwater(1513.7litersfor
PureAdvantage
TM
)
hasowedthroughthe
system.
Ifyourrefrigeratorhasnotbeenused

Air filter
Theairlterislocatedatthetopofthefreshfoodcompartmentnextto
the water filter.
Replacing the air filter
Ingeneral,youshouldchangetheairltereverysixmonths(thelterstatus
lightontheTouchPanelpromptsyoutoreplacethelteraftersixmonths)to
ensureoptimallteringofrefrigeratorodors.Youmaywanttoadjustthistime
perioddependingonthetypesandamountsoffoodyoutypicallystoreinyour
refrigerator.ToreplaceyourPureAdvantage

air filter:
1 Pulltheairlterhousingstraightout.
2 Remove the old filter and discard it.
3 Unpackthenewlterandplaceitinsidethehousing.
4 Slidethehousingbackintoposition.
5 PressandholdtheAir Filter Reset button on the electronic
controlpanelforthreeseconds.Whenthedisplaychangesfrom
“Replace”to“Good,”thestatushasbeenreset.
6 TheAir Filter Reset will turn itself off after a few seconds.
Ordering replacement filters
Ordernewltersbyvisitingwww.electrolux-lters.com,orseeingthedealer
whereyouboughtyourrefrigerator.Electroluxrecommendsthatyouorder
extralterswhenyourstinstallyourrefrigerator,andthatyoureplaceyour
filters at least once every six months.
foraperiodoftime(duringmovingforexample),changethelterbefore
reinstallingtherefrigerator.
To replace your PureAdvantage
TM
water filter:
Itisnotnecessarytoturnthewatersupplyofftochangethelter.Be
readytowipeupanysmallamountsofwaterreleasedduringthelter
replacement.
1 TurnOff the ice maker power switch.
2 Pushthelterreleasebuttonbelowthecartridgetodisconnectit.
3 Slidetheoldwaterltercartridgestraightoutofthehousingand
discard it.
4 Unpackagethenewltercartridgeandslideitgentlyintothelter
housinguntilitstopsagainstthesnap-inconnectoratthebackof
thehousing.
