Appendix A Serial Port Settings
The serial port COM5 on TPC-1260H is adjustable. It can be set to RS-
232, RS-422 or RS-485. This port is designed with auto data flow control
capability. In other words, the TPC-1260H can automatically detect the
data flow direction at this port when the two-wired RS-485 communica-
tion is activated.
A.1 Jumper Settings
Jumper settings are used to set the transmission protocol of the serial port.
Please see the table for the correct settings.
A.2 Software Setting
This section takes Windows XP as the example to demonstrate how to set
the serial port via the software. Please open “My Computer”->”Control
Panel”->”System”->”Device Manager”->”PCI Communication Port
(COM5)”->”Settings” as the Figure A.2.
