The jumper settings are schematically depicted in this manual as follows:
A pair of needle-nose pliers may be helpful when working with jumpers.
If you have any doubts about the best hardware configuration for your
application, contact your local distributor or sales representative before
you make any changes.
3.3 COM 2 RS-232/422/485 Jumper setting (J3/J4/J5
Located on internal motherboard)
The COM 2 port located on front faceplate of ARK-3383 unit which can
be configured to operate in RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 mode by setting
up the Jumper Pins of J3/J4/J5 located on internal motherboard of ARK-
3383 unit. The default setting of COM 2 is RS-232.
Please also refer to Chapter 8 “Full Disassembly Procedure”.
3.4 COM 3 RS-232/422/486 BIOS setting
The COM 3 port connector located on rear face plate of ARK-3383 unit
can be configured to operate in RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 mode by
adjusting “COM 3 Mode” of “Integrated Peripherals” at the BIOS setting.
Please refer to Chapter 4 “Award BIOS Setup” to select. The default set-
ting value of COM3 has been set for RS-232.
3.5 COM 4 RS-232/422/486 BIOS setting
The COM 4 port connector located on rear face plate of ARK-3383 unit
can be configured to operate in RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 mode by
adjusting “COM 4 Mode” of “Integrated Peripherals” at the BIOS setting.
