1.2 Features
1. Standard ATX form factor with industrial features: AIMB-
740-6CB1 provides industrial features like long product life, reli-
able operation under wide temperature range, watchdog timer,
CMOS backup functions, etc.
2. 6 Onboard serial ports: 2 of RS 232/422/485, 4 of RS 232.
3. 2 Onboard 8-bit GPIO: 2 on-board 8-bit GPIO headers.
4. Supporting Intel Mobile Pentium 4-M CPU: The Intel Mobile
Pentium 4-M CPU is suitable for the applications that require high
performance and low power consumption.
5. Healthy status monitoring and remote management: System
voltage levels, fan speed, CPU temperature are monitored to ensure
stable operation. The remote management interface allows the sys-
tem to be managed through Ethernet when it is connected to the
SNMP-1000 Remote HTTP/SNMP System Manager.
6. BIOS CMOS backup and restore: When BIOS CMOS setup has
been completed, data in the CMOS RAM is automatically backed
up to the Flash ROM. This is particularly useful in harsh environ-
ments which may cause setup data loss such as battery failure.
Upon such an error occurring, BIOS will check the data, and auto-
matically restore the original data for booting.
7. Automatically power on after power failure: It is often required
to have an unattended system come back to operation when power
resumes after a power failure. Advantech's industrial motherboard
allows users to set the system to power on automatically without
pushing the power on button.
