monitor and control slave RUs.
x The RS-485 cable connected to master RU should be connected to RS-485 IN port of slave RU.
When a slave RU is connected to another slave RU, then the RS-485 cable should be connected
from the RS-485 OUT port to the RS-485 IN of the 2

x If RS-485 port connections between sub RUs are not correct, master RU will not be able to
recognize all subordinate slave RUs. (Figure 3-37)
x WARNING! The RS-485 ports should NEVER be connected to the Enthernet port of laptop
or Ethernet Network Equipment. Doing so may cause serious damage to the sub RUs or
network equipments. (Figure 3-38)
