Battery Space

Buttons:
The buttons are just the right size for easy use. Frequently used
buttons are centred and colour-coded for easier operation.
Colours:
The button colours contrast sharply with the remote control body.
The colours* are also easily recognisable by people with vision problems.
Cursor:
The 2.5cm diameter is the best size.
Balance:
Mounting the batteries at the centre gives the unit optimum balance.
This prevents the remote control from slipping out of your hand.
Shape:
Depressions on the back make it easier to hold the remote control.

Universal Design
Universal Design for the Main Unit
Frequently used buttons (Power, Open/Close) are located at the top of
the unit. This makes them easier to see when the unit is placed in a
cabinet where you need to look down to see the Recorder.
Universal Design for Remote Control
The remote control was designed for easy use.
Universal Design for the Graphic User Interface
The graphical user interface (GUI) was developed based on the
results of a Panasonic survey to ensure ease of use.
The buttons are angled for
easy use.
Buttons that are less frequently used are concealed
behind the lid to produce a clean, modern front panel
design.
Four main functions:
The basic Recorder functions (Playback, Recording,
Delete, Copy) are displayed on the first screen.
Function names:
Functions are indicated in plain, easy-to-understand
language.
Menu screen:
The menu screen uses a combination of yellow and blue.
These colours are perceived with only a small amount of
difference by both people with normal vision and people
with vision problems.
List View
List View allows easy
selection of the content
from many recordings by
displaying a list.
Thumbnail View
Thumbnail View enables
easy visual recognition of
the content without having
to check titles or dates.
