Technical Manual

CONSTRUCTION
The CYCLONE™ and CYCLONE-K™ are constructed of welded
stainless steel and Inconel. Because the rotational orientation of
the baffles is critical to ensure optimum performance, the baffle
stack is sealed and cannot be disassembled.

WARNING - Failure to follow instructions set forth in this manual
can create a potentially dangerous situation for the operator and
damage to the silencer and host firearm.
WARNING - Before initiating Installation/Removal procedures,
be absolutely certain the magazine is removed and the weapon
is unloaded.
WARNING - ALWAYS wear proper eye protection when firing a
silencer equipped weapon.
WARNING -
Silencers for 7.62mm weapons are known to reach
temperatures in excess of 600 degrees Fahrenheit under normal
use. During heavy use, the CYCLONE™ and CYCLONE-K™ may
reach temperatures in excess of 800 degrees. These temperatures
can cause severe burns and ignite objects the silencer comes in
contact with while at these temperatures. Operators must be vigilant
in preventing contact between a CYCLONE™ and CYCLONE-K™ and
skin, clothing, and combustible objects during use.
INSTALLATION OF SILENCER
1) Set the weapon on “SAFE”, remove the magazine, lock the bolt
to the rear, and visually inspect the chamber to ensure it is empty
and the host-weapon is unloaded.
2) Thread the silencer onto the host weapon barrel hand tight.
Special care should be taken to prevent cross-threading.
3) Since thread mounting silencers are known to unscrew during
firing, IT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT THE USER
FREQUENTLY ENSURE THE SILENCER REMAINS SECURELY
THREADED ONTO THE BARREL OF THE HOST WEAPON.
ALIGNMENT AND BARREL THREADING
Proper alignment of the CYCLONE™ and CYCLONE-K™ is
determined by the concentricity of the muzzle threads to the axis
of the rifle bore and the presence of a shoulder behind the threads
that is perpendicular to the rifle bore. We guarantee alignment
of the CYCLONE™ and CYCLONE-K™ only on factory threaded
barrels or those modified by vendors recommended and approved
by Advanced Armament Corp. (Go to www.advanced-armament.
com for a list of recommended barrel threading vendors). Do not
use a CYCLONE™ or CYCLONE-K™ on barrels modified by other
sources without first submitting the proposed barrel to us to verify
thread trueness and concentricity. Damage to a CYCLONE™ or
CYCLONE-K™ resulting from improper barrel threading and/
or installation will not be covered under warranty, and Advanced
Armament Corp. denies liability for injury or damage caused by
improper installation. Any repairs to the unit made necessary by
user misuse or neglect will be invoiced to the owner.
