Barrel Vice, Action Wrench, Torque Wrench,
Appropriate SAAMI Go/NoGo Headspace Gauges (Full incremental set recommended).
Anti Seize compound, Rosin.
STEP 1
a long breaker bar.
Barrels may require considerable torque (over 150 ft/lbs) to remove. Penetrating oil may help free the threads.
STEP 2 Clean oil, grease or debris from receiver barrel threads (acetone is recommended).
STEP 3
STEP 4
If it passes, proceed to Step 6.
If fails NoGo, proceed to Step 5.
STEP 5 Thin recoil lug in increments of .001” using a surface grinder.
Surface Grinder recommended, alternate method is 400 grit sandpaper taped to a surface plate.
Recheck headspace until assembly passes both Go and NoGo gauges.
STEP 6
Apply a thin coating of anti seize compound to barrel threads.
Reassemble gun.
