Hardware
Acme Packet 4500 is a 1U rack-mountable system. With its integrated multiprocessor
design, Acme Packet 4500 achieves the highest levels of session processing and
capacity, system throughput, and redundancy in a 1U system. It is designed for medium
to large service provider, enterprise, government, and contact center applications.
The front of Acme Packet 4500 features a bright light-emitting diode (LED) display,
single RJ-45 serial console interface, USB port for local storage, and system fan pack
including replaceable filter. The rear of Acme Packet 4500 includes a single NIU slot in
addition to slots for redundant, load-sharing AC or DC power supply units.
Network Interface Units
Acme Packet 4500 NIUs are offered in a variety of configurations to address a range of
network, service, and application scenarios.
Acme Packet 4500 NIUs include two 10 Gb/sec–capable or four 1 Gb/sec–capable
Ethernet interfaces for signaling, media, and data traffic. The NIUs also integrate the
system alarm and management interfaces, including those used for the physical
configuration of HA system pairs.
Acme Packet 4500 NIUs are available in base or advanced models offering the
following interface speeds and connection types:
