3. BGP: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is the protocol backing the core routing
decisions on the Internet. It maintains a table of IP networks or 'prefixes' which
designate network reach-ability among autonomous systems (AS). It is
described as a path vector protocol. BGP does not use traditional Interior
Gateway Protocol (IGP) metrics, but makes routing decisions based on path,
network policies and/or rule-sets. For this reason, it is more appropriately termed
a reach-ability protocol rather than routing protocol.
You can enable the BGP routing function by click on the “Setting” button and fill in
the corresponding setting for your BGP routing configuration. When you finished
setting, click on “Save” to store your settings or click “Undo” to give up the
changes.
3.1.6.3 Routing Information
A routing table, or routing information base (RIB), is a data table stored in a router or a
networked computer that lists the routes to particular network destinations, and in
some cases, metrics (distances) associated with those routes. The routing table
