Remote Management of Other Systems Using Terminal Server
Ports Application
This application is an extension of the “MX3216 with Remote Management Application” on
page 3-11. In the remote management of other systems using terminal server ports applica-
tion, the terminal server ports on the MX3RMM provide remote management of other equip-
ment at the same site. This requires connecting the RS-232 craft ports of the other equipment
to the terminal server ports of the MX3RMM. Then, establishing a Telnet session to the
MX3RMM terminal server ports gives access to the other equipment (see Figure 3-16). Up to
four external devices can be accessed in this way.
