Setting up the FXS Voice Ports
This line code must match the line code used by the other units in the network.

QUALIZATION or line build out in the lines based on the size of the
network.

Set the CSU L
PBK option to ENABLE, DISABLE or DISABLE ALL based on
whether looping to this unit from another unit will be allowed.
FXS Voice Ports Setup Instructions
Step Action
1 From the Main Menu, select I
NTERFACES.
2 Select FXS C
ONFIG [+] and press ENTER.

Set the M
ODE of each port to LOOP START, GROUND START, TANDEM (E&M),
TR08 S
INGLE, TR08 UVG, or DP0.
This mode needs to be set based on how the network is set up and how each
port is being used. Each port does not need to be set to the same mode.
If the mode is set to T
ANDEM (E&M), be sure to set the TANDEM options as
described in Steps 9 and following.

Set the T
X (dB) or transmit direction level points of each port. Default is
recommended.

Set the R
X (dB) or receive direction level points of each port. Default is
recommended.
6 Set the S
VC MODE of each port to either IN SERVICE or OUT OF SVC.

Set the L
INE Z, or line impedance, of each port based on the size of the
network. Default is recommended.

Set the M
SG IND to disable or enable. When set to enable, talk path is always
open, even in on-hook conditions, in order for FXS message tones to pass
through. Disabling this feature will allow higher on-hook voltage but will not
allow on-hook messaging other than caller ID.

Press Enter on the T
ANDEM [+] option to view the TANDEM options if the port
mode is set to T
ANDEM (E&M).

Set the C
ONVERSION MODE of the port to either LOOP START or GROUND
S
TART.
11 Set the S
UPERVISION of the port to either IMMEDIATE or WINK.
Be sure to set the TANDEM options for each port set to TANDEM E&M.
