signal.ThereceivesideoftheXFPconvertstheincoming
DCbalancedserialNRZopticaldataatthe10Gb/s
linerate
intoserialelectricaldata.

INSTALLATION
InspecttheXFP.Ifdamaged,fileaclaimwiththecarrier
andthencontactADTRANCustomerService.
ToinstalltheXFPintoanappropriatemodule,complete
thefollowingsteps:
1. InserttheXFPintotheXFPcageonthecircuitboard
ofthehostmodulewiththelatchhandlefacingout‐
ward.Slide
theXFPallthewayintothereceptacle.
NOTE
ThelatchontheXFPisforremovalon ly.Whenremoving
theXFP,rotatethe latchawayfromtheXFPcageuntila
physicalclickoccurs.TheXFPshouldslideeasilyoutofthe
cage.
2. Usingthumbandforefinger,exertadequatepressure
toensuretheXFPiscomp letelyseatedintheXFP
cage.
3. Donotremovetheconnectorpluguntiltheoptical
fiberconnectionismade.
NOTICE
Itisrecommendedthattheconnectorplugremainon
wheneverthe transceiveropticalfiberconnectorisnot
inserted.
4. Continuetheinstallationandturn‐upofthehost
moduleusingtheinstructionsintheJobAidprovided
withthatmodule,orusingtheInstallationand
MaintenancePractice(I&M),availableonlineat
