3. Use the Profile software to establish communication with the
monitor.
Note: If your computer only has a USB port and no serial
port, use a USB-to-Serial adapter cable (and driver
software) to perform serial communications. ADS
recommends using one of the following USB adapters:
Dynex model DX-UBDB9 or Keyspan model USA-19S.
Refer to the Profile User' s G uide (#950015**) for using the Profile
software to designate the appropriate local port for serial
communication.
Connecti ng t o t he Moni t or through the EMU
Serial Cable
Communicating with the monitor without physically accessing the
monitor is possible through the EMU using the EMU Serial Cable
(ADS p/n 3800-0147). This requires opening the EMU and
connecting the laptop to the Reset PCB using the EMU serial cable.
Note: The EMU must be powered for this type of
connection, but the modem does not have to be installed or
turned on.
