Appendix A: Maximum Deployment Distances

The maximum permissible distance between deployed loggers varies

according to the pipe material. Refer to the following table to determine the

maximum distances. Do not exceed these distances.

Concrete 5577 feet (1700 m)

Copper 5906 feet (1800 m)

HDPE (high-density poly) 1640 feet (500 m)

Note: Please note that these are only maximum distances. The actual

distance the leak noise travels varies based on the pressure, pipe

diameter, wall thickness, and amount/frequency of noise generated by

the leak. Therefore, ADS provides no guarantee that the leak noise

will actually travel the maximum distance referenced in the table

above.
