XIO also serves as an analog and digital I/O (input/output) interface
that c an support non-ADS sensor s, switches, and vari ous third-party
equipment.
The ADS Qstart
software applications ena ble the us er to configure
and communicate with the monitor for activation, data c ollection,
and diagnostic purposes. Configurat ion invol ves defini ng the
Location Information File (LIF) for storage in the user's local
directory and building the necessary co d e and variables for the site.
The LIF contains information suc h as p ipe characteristics, monitor
identification, active sensors, sensor offsets, data log r ate, and other
parameters necessary for measuring the flow both accurately and
efficiently.
Activation involve s downloading the sit e-specific information from
the LIF (stored in the user's local dire c tory or network drive) to the
monitor. It also includes initiating monitor activities such as taking
sensor readings, logging flow data, and mana gi ng event notification.
