The following tables contain general troubles hooting t echniques for
the upward depth subsystem corresponding to the Peak Combo
Sensor.
Note: Contact your regi onal ADS representative for
further diagnosis pr ior to rep lacing a sensor.
Problem
UpDepth data periodically reads 0.63 i nches (16 mm).
Possible
Causes
Minimum flows are occurring within sensor deadband
(extending 1.0 inches (25 mm ) up from bott om of Peak
Combo Sensor) or the sens or i s receiving a strong
return signal close to t he sensor face.
Sensor t ransmit /receive surfac es are dirty.
Sensor or cabling mi ght be faulty.
Possible
Solutions
Verify minimum flow depths are not occurring within
sensor deadband.
Set the deadband on the UpDepth sensor to a setting
other than Auto, but well below the expected mi ni mum
flow depth. Fire the sensor several t i mes to verify
whether the readings improve.
Ensure the sensor is installed as closely as pos sible to
the 6:00 posi tion in the pipe, s i l t allowing.
Clean the sensor transmit/recei ve surfaces.
Inspec t the sensor c abl es for integrit y.
Check for moist ure i n t he connector.
Contact your regional ADS representative.
Replace the sensor.
Replace the monitor if def ective.
