New filters and commands
Version 6.0 offers the following
additions and enhancements:
• The Path Pattern filter lets you place
patterns along paths, a unique method
for creating borders, frames, distinctive
shapes, and graphic design elements.
The patterns generated are fully edit-
able vector artwork. For example, a
pattern applied to a path can be painted,
resized, and transformed just as can
other Adobe Illustrator artwork.
• The Ink Pen commands let you create
and modify special patterns, called
hatch styles , and apply them to filled
shapes, giving the appearance of an ink
pen drawing.
• The Clean Up Artwork filter gives you
several options for making artwork less
“messy” and more efficient, including
the selection and removal of stray
points, removal of unpainted objects
and removal of empty text paths.
