Enhanced image support
The following features provide compre-
hensive support for importing and
editing images:
• Expanded File Format Support. You
can now open or place files in many
formats, including Adobe Illustrator 1,
88, 3, 5 and 6; TIFF; PostScript; EPS; the
Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF);
PICT; Adobe Photoshop 2.5 or later; and
any file format supported by an Adobe
Photoshop plug-in module.
• Photoshop Filters. Adobe Photoshop-
compatible filters can be applied to any
imported image or Adobe Illustrator-
generated artwork that has been
raster-
ized
(converted to pixel-based artwork).
You can blur an image by selecting it
and applying the Radial Blur filter,
without leaving the Adobe Illustrator
program.
Version 6.0 includes 12 filters from
Adobe Gallery Effects: Accented Edges,
Bas Relief, Fresco, Glass, Grain, Halftone
Screen, Mosaic, Patchwork, Rough
Pastels, Spatter, Stamp and Sumi-e.
