Overprinting black in the separation
It can be cheaper and easier to have the
print shop overprint black on the press.
You can choose whether to overprint
black when printing or saving selected
separations. By default, Adobe Illustra-
tor version 3.2 and earlier overprinted
black and required you to specify a four-
color black to knock out black.
For more information, see Step 3: Select
overprint options for colors you want to
appear transparent.
To overprint black in the separation:
1
In the Separation Setup dialog box,
choose the Overprint Black option.
2 Specify another separation option,
or click OK.
