Step 6: Set separation options
Setting up a separation involves choos-
ing the separation options, and then
printing or saving the file. The separa-
tion settings you choose for a document
are saved with the separated file. If you
open a file that has never been sepa-
rated in Illustrator, the program returns
to the default settings.
To choose separation options:

Choose one of the following options:
Choose File > Separation Setup.
Choose File > Print, and then select
Separation Setup.
2 Select the PPD file that corresponds to
your printer or imagesetter.
3 Choose options as described in the
following topics; then click OK.
