To create a bitmap version of artwork:
1
Select the object you want to convert.
2 Choose Object > Rasterize.
3 Choose a resolution from the Resolu-
tion pop-up menu: Screen for monitor
output, Medium for laser printer output,
High for imagesetter output; or enter a
value in the Other text box. See Resolu-
tion and screen frequency basics for
more information on resolution.
4 If you do not want to smooth the
jagged edges around the bitmap image
when it is converted, deselect the Anti-
aliased option (the default).
5 If you do not want to create a mask
for the bitmap image that makes its
background appear transparent, dese-
lect the Create Mask option (the
default).
6 Choose an image format for the con-
version from the pop-up Format menu:
you can generate a 1-bit bitmap image,
a grayscale image, or a color image.
7 Click OK.
