To shear by specifying an angle and
an axis:
1
Select the object you want to shear.
2 Choose one of two options:
• To set the center point as the point of
origin, double-click the shear tool.
• To change the point of origin from
which to shear the object, select the
shear tool, hold down the Option key,
and click the point of origin.
3 Enter the new shear angle. The shear
angle is the amount of slant to be
applied to the object, relative to a line
perpendicular to the shear axis.
Note: Contrary to the way the program
works with other transformation tools,
the shear angle is calculated clockwise
from the current axis.
4 Specify the axis along which the
object is to be sheared. You can shear
an object along a horizontal, a vertical,
or an angled axis.
