LESSON 6
144
Overriding Default Actions
As you drag the pick whip, a straight line appears between the Properties palette and the
pick whip cursor. When the cursor is over a menu or timeline in the Project window,
Adobe Encore DVD displays a box to identify the selected item. After you release the
mouse button, the Properties palette displays the link that you created.
5 Save the project.
Setting overrides
Earlier, you set the end actions for the three video timelines so that they will play in
sequence. However, when the buttons in this menu are activated, you want each timeline
to play separately and then return to the Outtakes_Indiv menu. Therefore, you’ll link the
buttons to the timelines, and then specify overrides to perform end actions that are
different from the timelines’ defaults.
1 In the Menu Editor window, use the selection tool to select the The Kiss button. Make
sure the Properties palette displays the attributes for the The Kiss button.
2 Arrange your screen so that you can see both the Properties palette and the Project
window.
3 Drag the Link pick whip from the Properties palette to the Kiss timeline in the Project
window. When the Kiss timeline is selected, release the mouse button.
