Check Project options
The Check Project feature identifies the following issues:
Button Links Checks for links that point to missing menus, buttons, or timelines, or links that arent specified.
End Actions Checks for invalid End Actions.
Overrides Checks for invalid Override links.
First Play Checks that a first play action is present and valid.
Title Remote Checks that the title remote property is set and valid.
Menu Remote Checks that all timeline menu remote properties are set and valid.
Orphans Searches for menus or timelines not used in the project.
Playlists Checks that all playlists are populated and valid.
Button Overlap Identifies buttons that overlap, which make it difficult for viewers to make selection.
Total Size Of Menus Checks that the total size of each menu class doesnt exceed the DVD limit of 1 gigabyte per
class. Each aspect ratio used in an asset or different audio formats represent a distinct class.
Disc Capacity Checks that the project will fit on the chosen disc size.
Timeline Bitrate Too High Identifies timelines in which the combined video, audio and subtitle bit rates will exceed
the DVD limit. To reduce the bitrate, either lower the data rate by editing the transcoding preset of the timeline, or
remove tracks or clips from the timeline.
Chapters & Trims Identifies chapter points and trims in timelines that were adjusted during transcoding.
Subtitle Text Overflow Identifies subtitle text that is truncated in the subtitle text box and will not appear on screen.
You can edit the specified text to fit it all in the text box or increase the size of the text box.
Security and additional content
To set copy protection
You can use copy protection to limit or prevent duplication of your content. Adobe Encore DVD provides the
industry-standard copy protection schemes. If copy protection is required, you must replicate using a digital linear
tape (DLT). You can specify copy-protection settings for a project using the Disc tab in the Project panel. Copy
protection only works on replicated discs. (See “Replicating DVDs” on page 194.)
1 Click the Disc tab, and then click the Project Settings button to open the Project Settings dialog box.
2 Specify the desired copy-protection settings and then click OK:

to enable CSS and Macrovision.
CSS Encrypts the video data, and then includes decryption keys that can only be read from the original disc. Dupli-
cated copies do not include the decryption keys, so the video remains scrambled. This method is intended to prevent
