[1002] - ATI Technologies chipsets
This line, for example, identifi es a video chipset containing a chipset manufactured by ATI. If the line starts with two
slashes it is disabled, otherwise it is enabled.
3 Try to locate your video chipset in the fi le (if you do not know what chipset you have, see the next paragraph). If
there is a line for your chipset, but it is disabled, remove the two slashes, save the fi le and relaunch Atmosphere. If
there is no entry for your chipset, then you will have to add a line.
4 Atmosphere recognizes your chipset from two numbers, the Vendor ID and the Device ID. If you do not see
your video chipset in the list, you will have to look up the numbers for your chipset and enter them in the
confi guration le.
5 Download the DirectX Caps Viewer from http://www.microsoft.com/, unzip it and run it.
6 In the DirectX Caps Viewer, there is a tree view on the left. The name of your video chipset appears under the
heading “DirectX Graphics Adapters. Try to fi nd this name in the AtmoHWConfi g.txt fi le. If it is present but
disabled, remove the two slashes, save the fi le and relaunch Atmosphere.
7 If the chipset is not listed, click on the video chipset name that appears under “DirectX Graphics Adapters. In the
right pane, you will see see two items, “VendorId” and “DeviceId” among others.
8 Note the characters of the VendorId fi eld that appear after the 0x and leading zeroes: for example, it’s 1002 for a
VendorID of 0x00001002.
9 Note the characters of the DeviceId fi eld that appear after the 0x and leading zeroes: for example, it’s 10d for a
DeviceId of 0x0000010d.
10 Check the AtmoHWConfi g.txt le for a line that lists your vendor. If your vendor is there, add a line like this
under the vendor name:
(tab)xxxx – description
Where (tab) means press the tab key once, xxxx is the last digits of the DeviceId and description is any text that helps
you remember the entry–Atmosphere ignores the description. Save the fi le and relaunch Atmosphere.
11 If your vendor is not listed, add two lines to the end of the fi le AtmoHWConfi g.txt fi le like this:
