Installing the Atmosphere Player
The Atmosphere Player is a browser plug-in that is installed on demand when a user visits a site featuring an
Atmosphere environment. If the Player plug-in is not already installed, a Security Warning dialog box will appear
asking if you wish to install the Player plug-in
Clicking Yes in the Security Warning dialog box will download and install the 2.6 MB Player plug-in automatically.
You will not need to restart your browser once the plug-in is downloaded and installed.
Atmosphere Player is compatible with Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP with Internet
Explorer 5 and higher.
i
Installing Atmosphere will also install the Player plug-in.
Installing Atmosphere
Insert the Atmosphere installer CD and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also launch the Adobe Atmosphere
Setup wizard by clicking its icon on the CD. For more detailed information, see the Installation ReadMe on the CD.
Be sure to have your serial number handy - the installer will not proceed without a valid serial number.
Using Hardware Acceleration
The Atmosphere Player supports 3-D graphics hardware acceleration. If you open the Display tab in the Preferences
palette for Atmosphere Player, the Active Renderer will tell you if hardware (or software) acceleration is enabled. If
hardware acceleration is not enabled, you can select Hardware (Direct3D) as the Preferred Renderer and Atmosphere
will try to use it if it can. The Atmosphere application requires hardware acceleration. The minimum requirements
for Atmosphere list the minimum graphics hardware platform on which it is supported.
