ADOBE ATMOSPHERE 155
User Guide
Offset values are measured from the upper left corner of the object face.
Understanding Scaling Types
Atmosphere includes four different Scaling Types – Pixel, Tile, Parametric and Projective. The selected type will
change how textures appear on the surface of the object. The Pixel and Tile scaling types will normally maintain the
texture image’s proportions, while the Parametric scaling type will stretch the image as needed to completely fi ll an
object’s face. The Projective option treats the texture as if being projected onto the surface like a movie.
The numbers that appear in the size window show a relationship between the size of the image texture and the size of
the object to which the texture is applied. These numbers can be useful to more technical users who can use them to
adjust the size, resolution and other properties of texture images.
Those relationships are explained in the following passage. If you lack experience proceed by using the sliders and
other controls visually. Noting the values that produce desirable effects will help you recreate those effects quickly in
the future.
